Churches The Alliance of Baptists invites individuals, congregations, and theology schools to be a part of this vibrant denominational movement of progressive Baptists. Here's how:
AFFIRM • PRAY • CONTRIBUTE • ENGAGE • PARTICIPATE • CELEBRATE
Affirm the Alliance mission & covenant within your congregation. The Alliance recommends spending time discerning how your congregations values and identity align with the Alliance's mission and covenant. Then create a ritual around the affirmation of the Alliance's mission & covenant. Invite a member of the Alliance Leadership Team to this event. We would love to celebrate your becoming a part of the Alliance body.
Pray the mission and ministry of the Alliance. Lift Prayers with the People out of Alliance publications and include them as your congregation engages in community prayers.
Contribute financially to the Alliance on a regular basis. We ask each congregation to make gifts to the Alliance one of their top denominational/affiliation giving. Because we are an organization committed to minimal infrastructure expense (the Alliance neither owns nor rents property) when you make a contribution your funds go directly to the mission and ministry of the Alliance of Baptists.
Engage in the mission and ministry of the Alliance:
- Promote and give to the Bridges of Hope Mission Offering.
- Explore becoming a partner congregation with churches in Cuba or Brazil. Visit aob.cubapartnership.net to view profiles of congregations in Cuba seeking partnership.
- Get involved in mission projects with a domestic mission partner near you.
- Introduce a mission partner of your congregation to the Alliance.
Participate in the life and work of the Alliance. Encourage individuals to:
1. Attend Alliance gatherings: i.e. Convocation, Spirituality gathering, regional gatherings, clergy events. Sign up for the newsletter to receive a listing of current events.
2. Join a community of the Alliance and engage in transformative ministry. Visit allianceofbaptists.org/learn/about/communities to learn more about Alliance communities.
3. Volunteer with the Alliance. Volunteers host gatherings, serve as ambassadors to our mission partners, work with our Summer Communities of Service volunteers, mentor young leaders, serve on the board, assist with fundraising and so much more. Sign up to volunteer: allianceofbaptists.org/support/volunteer
4. Keep us informed about your congregation by sharing changes in leadership and contact information for leaders. Send email to Carole Collins to update your congregation's information.
Celebrate the Alliance in worship annually. Alliance Sunday materials are circulated each year to support your observance.
