Alliance of Baptists Store

The Alliance logo

The three large shapes in the logo symbolize the diversity of individuals and communities of faith who form the Alliance of Baptists.

The intersections of the shapes form deeper-hued colors representing the many ways that these diverse groups and individuals partner together in this Alliance to do God’s work of love and justice.

The overlapping of all three shapes forms a central image even richer in color symbolizing that the emphasis is not upon the lighter-shaded regions, representing group boundaries. Rather, the focus is the deep-hued center that represents a clear identity, the Alliance’s call to be ever more a Spirit-led people on the move.

Children

Calling all kindergarten through fifth grade kids.
You are called to create, too. We are going to have a great time using our gifts and energy to explore the convocation theme. We will explore our faith through creative activities such as art, singing and cooking. We will probably get a little dirty. We will definitely move (and groove), and, hopefully, we will have a lot of fun.
Libby Stephens, Minister with Children and their Families, at Pullen Memorial Baptist Church of Raleigh, NC, is coordinating the children’s program. If you have questions or suggestions or are interested in offering a creative workshop for the children, please contact Libby at 919-601-3953 or libbynate@earthlink.net.

Youth

The Youth Convocation for youth grades 6-12 will be led by Heather Tiller, Minister of Youth & Outreach, Woodland Heights Baptist Church of Richmond, VA. The Youth Convocation will begin with an opening reception on Friday evening in which Heather will introduce herself and the theme of the weekend. Youth will worship together then enjoy a time of fellowship and team-building.

On Saturday morning, the group will create a large mural and reflect on its meaning in their own lives.
Later in the day, the youth will watch a movie together, then discuss the creative themes and God’s relationship to us and to the creation as a whole.
More fellowship and games are planned for Saturday night.

The youth will conclude their time together on Sunday morning, ending with worship.

If you have questions or would like more information, please contact Heather Tiller, heather@whbcva.org or (804) 233-2222.
