SUMMARY:Church in the Cliff gets Methodist appointee
DESCRIPTION:  Courtney Pinkerton was appointed to Alliance-affiliated Church in the Cliff by the North Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church in December and began as community pastor January 1st. \nCourtney  is a licensed local church pastor and candidate for Elder’s Orders in the United Methodist Church and was appointed to CITC as an extension ministry from the North Texas Conference.\n Courtney graduated in 2008 from a dual program at the Harvard Divinity and Kennedy Schools (Master of Divinity/Master of Public Policy).  During the course of her studies at Harvard she was awarded a Fund for Theological Education Ministry Fellowship\, which she used to explore art making as a spiritual discipline.\n Courtney has an undergraduate degree from SMU and worked in direct service with the poor\, first as an AmeriCorps volunteer and then as a Peace Corps volunteer in rural Nicaragua and also gained valuable experience as a campus ministry intern at Boston University for three semesters.  \n Courtney\, her husband Richie and their children Coleman and Pearl moved back to her hometown of Dallas in August and intentionally settled in the Oak Cliff area where CITC's new home is located. \n Courtney will be leading the Collaboratory\, a new initiative of CITC for Worship Renewal that will begin in September 2009.  The Collaboratory will be a creative hub for the gift exchange of ministers and congregations involved in the integration of worship\, art\, and social justice and will include participants that meet the first Friday of each month\, as well as house ministry apprentices who will be part of the community for periods of one to four months.\n Email\:  cdpinkerton@gmail.com [mailto\:cdpinkerton@gmail.com]\n
